The Great Good

We recently finished work on a promotional film for 23red. They needed a short film to communicate their beliefs ‘that businesses need to be 'Good' to have a competitive advantage in today's competitive landscape'.

The creatives at 23red had a focused idea, a strong script and rough storyboards which we quickly fleshed out into an animatic, working out the timing and rhythm of the story. Directors garth+ginny designed the characters and the railroad driven landscapes taking the the story from storyboards to final film.

We hope you like it.

Pictoplasma Yeti

The (very) good folks from Pictoplasma recently asked people for contributions to their missing link research project.

More than 5000 entries were submitted, with sightings occurring in South Africa, Iran, Bogota, Korea, Russia, North Carolina, New Zealand, and everywhere in between!

After an initial installation at the Volksbuhne in Berlin, we were lucky enough to have our entry exhibited in the Pictoplasma Paris conference at La Gaîté Lyrique in December 2011.

A massive wall in the central exhibition hall presented 500 of the very best entries as unique digital prints, we were delighted to find ‘Yeti’ in and amongst them.

View Conference / ViewFest

A few weeks back the 12th View International Computer Graphics Conference took place in Turin, Italy.

We were delighted to be one of the lucky 19 finalists nominated for the View Award 2011, as part of the ViewFest Digital Movie Festival. As they say it was “I più bei video digitali da tutto il mondo!” (The most beautiful digital videos from all over the world!)

A massive congratulations to everyone involved in the conference/festival, we wish we could have been there.

Unfortunately ‘Noise Trade’ didn’t pick up an award, but congratulations to all the winners, especially the excellent ‘A Morning Stroll’ by Grant Orchard, which picked up the ‘Best Character’ award, and was recently seen at our Digital Animation Screening in September.

Check out all the nominations and winners here:

Signs = Amazing (not inc. tin foil hat film)

Check out our wonderful Persistent Peril sign in our studio. Built by the wonderful Zoli Rutter from Exhibit Printing in Brighton. We love it, and it beats the temporary paper sign that preceded it!

Wall-o-Dreams

During Brighton Digital Festival's 'Open Studio Week' we asked the many multi-talented strangers who visited our humble abode to colour in our Jon Burgerman designed wallpaper.

We will update the blog with more and more pictures of this dazzling wall as the awesome designs get more and more colourful!

Feel free to drop us and email at hi@persistentperil.com and arrange to pop by for some tea and a meet-and-greet! The open studio week may have finished, but we are always keen to meet like-minded creatives.

Digital(Open)StudiosWeek

We had a crazy week as part of Brighton Digital Festival. Around the week of our screening at Lighthouse, and getting humiliated at fussball, we also opened our doors to many a friendly face as part of Digital Open Studios!

Thanks to all that came to visit us, we had an amazing week and meet a real range of people/companies/eccentrics/talents. It was glorious!

Thanks to all who helped colour in our John Bergerman wall, and indulged in our fine selection of teas. Next year we will save a few days a visit YOU!

TTT T

Garth recently designed this beautiful T Shirt for instrumental noisenik band Three Trapped Tigers.

You may/should/must recognise the design as our robot friend from the ‘Noise Trade’ music video we made for the band. The design on the right was the other option for the shirt.

You can get this luxury 100% cotton item from TTT themselves, as they tour around our fine and green lands.

Digital/Animation\Screening

Another massive thank you to everyone that came to our Digital Animation Screening last Thursday. It was so amazing to sell out, and see so many friendly folks in one place. I hope that all that attended enjoyed Garth and Ginny's live 'score' to Pixel Film #1. It was epic.

A huge thanks to the Lighthouse, BANG and Brighton Digital Festival in helping it sell out/exist/run smoothly.

We will post news on future screenings as and when we plan them. Viva la future.
